Modifying iMovie for iPhone 3GS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Step 1:<\/strong> First up, you will have to purchase and download iMovie from iTunes. Here is the\u00a0iTunes link<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Step 2:<\/strong> Once you have done that, locate the .ipa file on your computer and change its extension from .ipa to .zip.<\/p>\n

Step 3:<\/strong> Extract the contents of the .zip file. Now right click on iMovie, and click on \u201cShow Package Contents\u201d.<\/p>\n

Step 4:<\/strong> Now locate the info.plist file and open it using any text editor like TextWrangler.<\/p>\n

Step 5:<\/strong> Search for this string, and change \u201c<true\/>\u201d to \u201c<false\/>\u201d:<\/p>\n

I tried this step to run iMovie on my\u00a0iPad<\/a> but with no success.<\/p>\n

Syncing it to your iPhone<\/strong><\/p>\n

Step 7:<\/strong> You should now be able to sync this file using\u00a0iTunes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In case if that doesn\u2019t work for you, you will have to\u00a0jailbreak<\/a> your\u00a0iPhone<\/a> and\u00a0iPod touch<\/a> on\u00a0iOS 4<\/a>, then use installous to install this modified version of .ipa file. What you will need to do is to make sure you have OpenSSH and installous installed. Now use any software like Cyberduck on Mac, or WinSCP on Windows to transfer this .ipa file to the following location:<\/p>\n

Now simply install it using installous app on your iPhone or iPod touch.<\/p>\n
